I am having my first ever gallery exhibition of my editorial work at Ottawa Studio Works on Preston St. in Ottawa this Thursday, August 18, 2011. I will be giving a little chat about photojournalism and showing 20 of my favorite and most important images from my last three years as an independent photographer. You can get more info on the Facebook event page and from the Ottawa Studio Work’s blog post about the event. Some of the participants are going to the World Press Photo Exhibit at the Canadian War Museum at 6:30 pm before my show-and-tell at 8 pm. I hope a few of you readers can make it! I am sure there will be some type of drinking competition at the Heart and Crown pub down the street afterwards.
Thursday, August 18, 2011 – 160 Preston St. @ 8 pm – 10 pm.

It is legit, there is a picture of my in the display case!

Thanks to Ottawa photographer Harry Nowell for encouraging me to show my work and host the event.

Ottawa photographer Blair Gable, independent photojournalist and all-around interesting guy, will be giving a presentation, showing his work and sharing his experiences. Blair specializes in political news coverage, professional sports and environmental portraiture. He’s had inside access to federal politics that has enabled him to photograph some of the most powerful presidents, prime ministers and royals in the world.
